(Late) MOIN NIAZI QAWWAL (PRIDE OF PERFORMANCE)belongs to the great “Autroli Gharana” of (Ustad Shahab Khansaheb Kas Gung U, P). Ustad Shahab Khansaheb was highly talented in classical music. In the past century Ustad Allah Diya Khansab Almaroof Kola Puri “Sangeet Samrat” and recent century Ustad Azmat Hussian Khansaheb “Dilrung” “ Gayan Samart “ belongs to the same gharana.


(Late) Moin Niazi Qawwal was “by birth Singer” his first appearance in qawwali was at Dargah Hazrat Nizam Uddin Aulia (RA) and Hazrat Kaleem Ullah Jahanabadi(RA) Delhi India . His style of singing was very simple and very few of them had such captivating voice. His voice was heart touching and excellent due to which he has been awarded the title of

“ AWAMI RAGI”.
He learnt the art of Qawwali and Classical music from various ustads and his elders but especially from Ustad Whaid Hussian Khansaheb Khurjaywaly (One of the greatest classical vocalist) and Baba-e-Qawwali, Farooq Ahmed Nizami taught him a lot.

Moin Niazi Qawwal expired on 20 th December 1988 at Karachi and after his death several Departments of Government of Pakistan admitted his services in art of qawwali and gave him several awards, which are as under.

In the light of his services Radio Pakistan Karachi (Centre) produced a 30 minutes program “Moin Niazi Ke Yad Main ” on national hock up.

Ex-Governor of Sindh, Mr. Fakhruddin Jee Ibrahim presented a cheeque of Rs. 20,000 /= to his widow.

The Sports & Culture Ministry ( Islamabad ) fixed Rs. 750 /= per month for his widow and kids for 2 years for his services to Art of Qawwali.

In recognition of his services in the art of qawwali, Government Of Sindh attributed the name of street where he lived after his name “ MOIN NIAZI QAWWAL STREET ” this decision is first of its kind in Pakistan .

This is an International Award to ( late ) Qawwal that a German Recording Company has released a AUDIO CD of Qawwali under the title of “MOIN NIAZI QAWWAL STREET”.

Finally in the light of his services in this art the Government Of Pakistan awarded him the“ PRIDE OF PERFORMANCE AWARD ” which is obviously a great honor to him.

With great pride “ MOIN NIAZI QAWWAL STREET (PRIDE OF PERFORMANCE)” situated at Shoe Market Karachi has the honor of having (3) great personalities living in this street. All of them have been awarded “Pride of Performance and Tamgah-e-Imtiaz” by Government Of Pakistan.
